1) Notes
Welcome to the Requiem: Avenging Angel Sneak Peek. This demo is a pre-release build
of the game. You may experience bugs that will not be part of the final product. Some
things to be aware of:
1. When saving the configuration settings, only use names that are legal Windows 95
filenames and that have 31 or fewer characters in them. If an illegal name is used, no
warning message will be given and the configuration settings will not be saved. This
problem will be fixed in the final version of the game.
2. To ensure the best gaming experience possible, please close all other applications
before running this demo. It is especially important that you close applications that
display pop-up messages (i.e. certain types of email).
3. There is a graphical glitch with the Grenade Launcher when running the demo at the
screen resolution of 512x384, the lower portions of the screen can become obscured. We
recommend running the demo with a screen resolution of 640x480 or higher.
4. In the Options menu, if you press the Default button and then the Cancel button, the
Cancel button does not work properly. In this situation, the Cancel button does not
cancel the effects of having pressed the Default button.
5. In the Controls menu, pressing Cancel sets all of the controls back to their default
settings. Press the OK button to keep your customized settings.
6. In the Options menu, be aware that pressing the Default button causes the Sounds,
Display, and Controls menus to return to the default configurations.
7. After completing the installation of the demo, you must have enough free hard-drive
space remaining on the system (usually drive C) to run the game. To be safe, the amount
we recommend having available is double the amount of the physical RAM within the
system. For example, if your computer has 32 megabytes of RAM in it, you may need
as much as 64 megabytes of free hard drive space, after installation is finished, for the
game to run properly.
This demo features only a tiny part of the full Requiem game (a boss fight with Lilith,
one of the Fallen angels), and only supports a handful of angelic powers and weapons
available in the final version. However, it still gives a taste of the intense action, beautiful
art, lifelike animation, substantial dialogue, and unique characters that make Requiem
stand out among first person shooters. The final product will feature:
Over 30 unique levels, full of adrenaline pumping combat and exploration.
Full range of angelic powers, including Locusts, Bloodboil, Resurrect, Possession, and
Turn to Salt.
Over 20 unique enemy types, and 30 secondary characters.
Incredibly detailed environments that feel functional, such as a prison, power plant,
research lab, starship, rebel base, refugee camp, and war-torn city streets.
3D, real-time rendered secondary characters that don't necessarily shoot at you, but can
talk to you, join your missions, or betray you to the enemy.
Intelligent enemy AI: enemies can work together, and track you down from a distance.
A next-generation skeletal animation system that delivers some of the smoothest and
most lifelike animations in a PC game.
Up to eight player multiplayer support, for both team play and head-to-head play.
----------------------------------------------------------
2) Story
There has been a second war in Heaven, and a group of rebellious angels have descended
to Earth to destroy mankind. These angels, known as the Fallen, are jealous of man's
preferred place in the universe. You play Malachi, a loyal angel who must take on mortal
form and stop the Fallen angels. Malachi's adventures take him from the depths of Hell,
to war torn cities, to the vastness of uncharted space. As Malachi progresses, he learns
more of the Fallen's plans. Through in-game interactions with a wide range of 3D
characters, Malachi recruits human allies to help him in his struggle.
